Hello! This is the blog for Anth 311: Anthropology of Sound. Here are some instructions for your final blog posts.
In the next week or two, you'll all receive an email invitation to join as a "Blog Author." Once you have successfully joined, you will be able to add your final blog post here. As per the instructions I sent you, your blog post should include text and any audio, visual, or audio-visual elements that are part of your analysis. Photo stills can easily be added like this:
And videos, from YouTube or other places, can be embedded like this one:
As mentioned in the instructions you received, your blog post should also include proper citational practices. For example, if you want to reference the online article we read a while back about the sound of sports, make sure to include a link to it. Similarly, if you want to talk about the book we read by Murray Schafer, you should also include a link to the publisher's website. Ditto if you want to cite a journal article, like the piece we read on Portuguese fado music.
Blogger is very easy to use. Once you sign in and navigate to our class blog, just hit "New post" and then start typing. To add links like I did above, highlight a chunk of text, hit "Link," and then add the URL for whatever website you want to link to. To add images or videos, click on the two buttons right next to the "Link" button.
That's pretty much all you should need for your final blog posts. If you have any questions, shoot me an email or we can talk about it in one of our one-on-one-conversations.
